pH and Alkalinity Levels in newly mixed sea salt

5 and 25 Gallon Mix Denomination Ingredients are Individual Hand Weighed-out

Calcium is Packaged Separately from the Sea Salt Mix

(Included in each sea salt mix bag)

You have the choice of when to add your calcium:

at time of mixing your sea salt,

after your sea salt aged for X amount of days

or at time of your water change and add calcium to your sump

There will be times for one reason or another, that your aquarium will have a high calcium level. We are the only sea salt maker that has the following benefit; you can do a water change with-out adding some or the entire separated calcium packet to safely lower your calcium to your desired level.

Each 5 gallon sea salt mix makes a full 5 gallons at a S.G. of 1.026 or 35 ppt

Each 25 gallon sea salt mix makes a full 25 gallons at a S.G. of 1.026 or 35 ppt

Each 150 gallon (6-25 gallon bags) sea salt mix case makes

exactly 150 gallon at S.G. of 1.026 or 35 ppt

Mixes Clear in about 10 to 20 minutes / With Out the Use of EDTA

By not adding the separated calcium packet at time of mixing, the ph and alkalinity levels will be slightly higher because the calcium is not in the salt mix to interact with the buffering system, thus you are able to let your mixed saltwater stand for an indefinite period of time. Just add the separated calcium several hours before use, so the calcium can start to interact with the buffering system to bring the ph and alkalinity to their proper levels.

Formula #1:

Each 5 and 25 gallon sea salt mix bag will make a full 5 or 25 gallons of saltwater at Approximate Values : SG: 1.026 / 35 ppt, Magnesium: 1350 ppm, Calcium: 450 ppm, Alkalinity: 10 dKH, pH: 8.4,  Boron: 4.5 ppm, Potassium 380 mg/L and 70 major and minor trace elements.

(Test results will vary with different test methods and solvents)

Formula #2:

Each 5 and 25 gallon sea salt mix bag will make a full 5 or 25 gallons of saltwater at Approximate Values : SG: 1.026 / 35 ppt, Magnesium: 1350 ppm, Calcium: 400 ppm, Alkalinity: 7.5 dKH, pH: 8.4,  Boron: 4.5 ppm, Potassium 380 mg/L and 70 major and minor trace elements.

The fundamentals of maintaining saltwater aquariums and maintaining all colors of coralline algae.

We ask that you do not think of your saltwater aquarium as a fish only saltwater tank, reef only saltwater tank or as a saltwater reef tank with fish. Think of your aquarium as a saltwater aquarium, period. In nature the marine animals all come from a well balanced system. This is how we maintain our saltwater aquarium water chemistry values with great success. Magnesium Values: 1250 - 1350 mg/L, Calcium Values: 380 - 450 ppm, Alkalinity Values: 3 - 5 meg/L or 8 - 11 dKH, pH Values: 8.1 - 8.4, Boron Values: 4.5 mg/L, Salinity Values:  1.026 SG or 35 PPT, Iodide Values: 0.03 – 0.06 ppm, Strontium Values: 10 and 15 mg/L. By keeping the above values stable and constant, using R/O DI filtered water, along with proper water changes, using a good protein skimmer, using carbon and or GFO media in a reactor, using  25 micron filtering bags and proper lighting for your corals. You will have a well balanced saltwater tank and you'll be able to grow and maintain good coralline growth and house any animal from the world’s reef systems and have them flourish. Try this method for 2 months and you will see a difference!  Pass It On!

Formula for gallon calculations is L x H x W divided by 231 = Gallons. Multiply this by 3.785 for liters.

1 quart = 0.95 liters 1 gallon = 3.78 liters   5 gallons=18.90 liters
1 lb = 0.453 kg   5 lbs = 2.27 kg   10 lbs = 4.53 kg   25 lbs = 11.33 kg
