Slurry Mixing Instructions:

We ask that you never try to divide the dry form of any denomination of our Saltwater Correct Custom Made Organic 2 Part Aquaculture Sea Salt mixes to make smaller dry form denomination.

Reason is that our 25 gallon and 5 gallon salt mix packets are stirred but not totally mixed.

If you try to divide any of the dry form denomination to smaller denomination the formula will not be 100% the same for each denomination and again because our product is stirred but not totally mixed.

For those of you that can not make or store an entire 25 gallon salt mix or want the economics of buying the 25 gallon salt mix instead of the 5 gallon, please read on.

I would like to help you save money any way I can, so by making a concentrated liquid slurry out of 1-25 gallon mix of Saltwater Correct Custom Made Organic 2 Part Aquaculture Sea Salt Mix to make five-five gallon denominations for water changes will be more economical then to buy the single five gallon salt mixes.

Directions:
Use any 1 gallon food grade container (i.e. ice tea or milk) and fill with filtered water.
Take 2-5 gallon buckets and add 1 gallon of water to each bucket.
Use a permanent marker and draw a line at the top of the 1 gallon water level for both buckets.
Repeat adding 1 gallon of water until you have 5-1 gallon water lines marks for each bucket.

Bucket #1:

Start out and add filtered water to the 3 gallon water line.
Take 1-25 gallon salt mix, open and remove the calcium packet before adding the salt mix to the 3 gallons of filtered water (
never add the calcium packet to the salt mix solution).

Note: If you are using Sodium Chloride Free salt mix please add the required amount at this time.

Stir salt mix and filtered water vigorously. (never add the calcium packet to the salt mix solution) This step may take a little time to dissolve, now top off the last 2 gallons of filtered water that will make the total of 5 gallons.
You have now made concentrated liquid slurry out of 1-25 gallon dry form mix of Saltwater Correct Custom Made Organic 2 Part Aquaculture Sea Salt.

Bucket #2:

Add 1 gallon of the concentrated liquid sea salt slurry out of bucket #1.
Now bucket #2 has I gallon of the concentrated liquid sea salt slurry, add 4 gallons of filtered water to the concentrated liquid sea salt slurry and mix.

(You may add the 1 teaspoon of calcium at this time)
You have now made 5 gallons of Saltwater Correct Custom Made Organic 2 Part Aquaculture Sea Salt.

After you have aged your slurry solution and you make any denomination of sea salt, you may immediately use the new salt mix because the slurry has been aged.

Remember that it takes approximately 1 teaspoon of calcium for each gallon of water.

The fundamentals of maintaining saltwater aquariums and maintaining all colors of coralline algae.

We ask that you do not think of your saltwater aquarium as a fish only saltwater tank, reef only saltwater tank or as a saltwater reef tank with fish. Think of your aquarium as a saltwater aquarium, period. In nature the marine animals all come from a well balanced system. This is how we maintain our saltwater aquarium water chemistry values with great success. Magnesium Values: 1250 - 1350 mg/L, Calcium Values: 380 - 450 ppm, Alkalinity Values: 3 - 5 meg/L or 8 - 11 dKH, pH Values: 8.1 - 8.4, Boron Values: 4.5 mg/L, Salinity Values:  1.026 SG or 35 PPT, Iodide Values: 0.03 – 0.06 ppm, Strontium Values: 10 and 15 mg/L. By keeping the above values stable and constant, using R/O DI filtered water, along with proper water changes, using a good protein skimmer, using carbon and or GFO media in a reactor, using  25 micron filtering bags and proper lighting for your corals. You will have a well balanced saltwater tank and you'll be able to grow and maintain good coralline growth and house any animal from the world’s reef systems and have them flourish. Try this method for 2 months and you will see a difference!  Pass It On!

Saltwater Correct product line proceeds helps us further our aquaculture program.
