This product can be used as part of the popular Two or Three Part Solution or separately to make alkalinity adjustments. Alkalinity dKH Supplement will have a slight lowering effect on your PH.

You can in conjunction add some pH-Up supplement with the alkalinity supplement to

counter-act the the slight pH drop.

Saltwater Correct Alkalinity dKH supplement is designed to be used as part of the very popular 2-Part Solution for calcium and alkalinity or as part of a 2 or 3 part dKH buffering system or to use alone to raise your alkalinity values.Monitoring and maintaining your Alkalinity values is part of helping to stabilize your water chemistry values, and you will see better coralline algae growth, coral growth and invert growth. The rate at which alkalinity is depleted from the water column is determined by the stocking density of your livestock, biological filtration and chemical conditions. Each aquarium system will have different requirements for the rate of alkalinity supplementation. It is recommended that you use a quality sea salt mix with the proper 8 values (magnesium, alkalinity, pH, potassium, boron, strontium, iodide and calcium). To determine the alkalinity values in your aquarium system start by using an accurate test kit before supplementing. Maintain the aquarium alkalinity values with-in a range of 7 dKH to12 dKH. Directions are just a guide line. Start out by adding 1 teaspoon per 50 gallons of tank water. Wait one hour and retest. Add daily until the desired values are attained. Add slowly to your sump and away from main water pump. Drip method is best. Daily dosing maintains a more stable alkalinity values than dosing weekly, in which the alkalinity spikes just after dosing and then gradually decreases through out the duration of the week. If you are having a problem maintaining your alkalinity levels check your magnesium levels and adjust if needed.

Note:

We recommend to check your alkalinity values regularly like magnesium, potassium and calcium.

The fundamentals of maintaining saltwater aquariums and maintaining all colors of coralline algae.

We ask that you do not think of your saltwater aquarium as a fish only saltwater tank, reef only saltwater tank or as a saltwater reef tank with fish. Think of your aquarium as a saltwater aquarium, period. In nature the marine animals all come from a well balanced system. This is how we maintain our saltwater aquarium water chemistry values with great success. Magnesium Values: 1250 - 1350 mg/L, Calcium Values: 380 - 450 ppm, Alkalinity Values: 3 - 5 meg/L or 8 - 11 dKH, pH Values: 8.1 - 8.4, Boron Values: 4.5 mg/L, Salinity Values:  1.026 SG or 35 PPT, Iodide Values: 0.03 – 0.06 ppm, Strontium Values: 10 and 15 mg/L. By keeping the above values stable and constant, using R/O DI filtered water, along with proper water changes, using a good protein skimmer, using carbon and or GFO media in a reactor, using  25 micron filtering bags and proper lighting for your corals. You will have a well balanced saltwater tank and you'll be able to grow and maintain good coralline growth and house any animal from the world’s reef systems and have them flourish. Try this method for 2 months and you will see a difference!  Pass It On!

Saltwater Correct product line proceeds helps us further our aquaculture program.

advice and the latest marine saltwater coral reef aquarium information.
