Good Service Doesn't Cost...It Pays !

My rate for aquarium services is sixty dollars ($60.00) per hour, for on site time, plus materials, door to door traveling time, supplies and any parking expenses.

If  I must use more than one person to provide services for your aquarium, you will be charged separately by the hour for each person.

I bill in fifteen minute increments, from the time I / we arrive at your building to the time I / we leave your building, with a minimum charge of one hour. I do bill for the time it takes to set up equipment and pack up   equipment before I / we leave. My minimum billing charge for any of my services is sixty dollars ($60.00) per hour per person.

When I / we travel, I bill my regular rate of $60.00 per hour for travel time door-to-door, round-trip. My travel and lodging fees are included and itemized for that job.

Aquarium Deliveries without Installation:

Billed at either a pre quoted flat rate or sixty dollars ($60.00) per person, per hour, billed from the time I /  we start loading to the time I / we return to the store. Please contact me for a quotation.

Aquarium Deliveries with Installation:

Billed at either a pre-quoted flat rate or at my regular rate of sixty dollars ($60.00) per person, per hour, billed on site, depending on the size of the installation. Please contact me for a quotation.

Aquariums That Require More Than One Technician:

I occasionally encounter situations that require me to use more than one person to install or clean a particular aquarium. In most cases, it is a matter of safety, such as an aquarium that has been installed in a manner which may cause an accident if serviced by one person, resulting in injury or damage to the aquarium. In other cases, it is more economical for the customer if two people do the work, as it typically takes two people less than half the time it would take one person to do the work. Billing for eight hours of work done by one person is obviously more expensive than billing for three hours of work done by two people.

There are several factors that determine whether additional people needed to do aquarium work:

If an aquarium is more than two hundred and sixty five gallons and the filtration equipment is complex, it can take one person all day to do the job that two people can do in less than half the time, saving the customer money.

If the aquarium tank is more than three feet tall and is mounted on a high stand so that  I must use a ladder to access the aquarium, or is on a cabinet that is poorly designed to allow enough access for the aquarium maintenance, two people are used in the interest of safety, when there are large and heavy pieces of coral or rock work that must be removed and replaced for cleaning.

If there is more than one aquarium in the customers home, business or office, two people can clean the aquariums in less than half the time it would take one person to do the work, which saves me / us time so I / we can make more visits in a day, and also saves the customer money.

If the water and drain source used for draining or filling the aquarium, or for bleaching and cleaning decorations or equipment is on another floor of the customer's home, business or office, two people are used to reduce the chances of water spillage or coral breakage, and to cut the time it would take one person to do the work by more than half.

If the aquarium contains large dangerous occupants, like large sharks, large lionfish or stonefish, and the customer can't be present when I /we are there to do the maintenance, we will use two people for reasons of safety.

If an aquarium is to be installed or moved, and the aquarium is glass or more than three feet in long, or acrylic and more than four feet in long, two people are used for safety.

The secret of growing and maintaining all colors of coralline algae.

We ask that you do not think of your saltwater aquarium as a fish only saltwater tank, reef only saltwater tank or as a saltwater reef tank with fish. Think of your aquarium as a saltwater aquarium, period. In nature the marine animals all come from a well balanced system. This is how we maintain our saltwater aquarium water chemistry values with great success. Magnesium Values: 1250 - 1350 mg/L, Calcium Values: 380 - 450 ppm, Alkalinity Values: 3 - 5 meg/L or 8 - 11 dKH, pH Values: 8.1 - 8.4, Borate/Boron Values: 4.5 mg/L, Salinity Values:  1.026 SG or 35 PPT, Iodide Values: 0.03 – 0.06 ppm, Strontium Values: 10 and 15 mg/L. By keeping the above values stable and constant, using R/O DI filtered water, along with proper water changes, using a good protein skimmer, using carbon in a reactor, using  25 micron filtering bags and proper lighting for your corals. You will have a well balanced saltwater tank and you'll be able to grow and maintain good coralline growth and house any animal from the world’s reef systems and have them flourish. Try this method for 2 months and you will see a difference!  Pass It On!
